Social Responsibility

As soon as we started operating in the Jequitinhonha Valley, once one of the most deprived regions in Brazil, we understood our role as local agents of change. We set up our infrastructure with our own resources and became aware of our social and environmental responsibility.

Over the years, we have made a significant contribution to improving social indicators (as evidenced by the evolution of the HDI - which measures the well-being of the population based on income, schooling and health - monitored by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

We have created nearly 700 direct jobs and thousands of indirect jobs in the region, which has boosted local income. Our Human Resources policy values our talents, by constantly training our employees.

In 2022, we raised BRL 195 million in taxes and levies that flew back to the municipalities in the region. But beyond paying these taxes, we are also directly and indirectly involved in social actions through works and services provided to local communities.
